Once again Bea Lorimer from Heke Design will take to our runway on August 19th at the Hutt Winter Festival in Lower Hutt.
Bea has been to everyone one of our Eco Fashion Runway Shows and is always a crowd favourite. From brightly coloured woolen sweater coats to skirts adorning native bird motives and everything in between, Bea's range is truly inspirational.
After learning how much clothing and textile waste existed, Bea felt it was important to do things differently so Heke Design was born in 2009. Drawing on a background in fashion mixed with a passion for recycling, HekeDesign is about creating unique colourful fashion pieces, utilizing resources we already have and more often than not her creativity prevents those items from becoming landfill waste.
Working from predominantly locally sourced waste clothing, each item is individually cut, allowing for one of a kind, wearable piece. All of the items are manufactured on Waiheke Island, New Zealand from vintage and re-claimed textiles.
