Today I am grateful to a number of people who have helped me along the way as a designer, the director of an international fashion event, as a person and I am also grateful to the Lord for giving me my talents and teaching me how to use them.
When someone in business gives you something - wither it is time, products, advice - it is always courteous and respectful to look for ways that you can give back. Sure it may only be a thank-you and a cup of coffee at the time in a favourite café but make sure you take the time to acknowledge them, their business and to show them your gratitude.
Down the track you maybe able to return the favour in a bigger way but always take the time to do it. Never forget your roots and the people who have helped you along the way. They are the reason you have ended up where you are.
Remember that people have feelings and where someone has helped you out in a particular way, it pays to remember that. Whatever they have helped you with has come with time, thought and effort. These things must never be taken for granted. Wither or not money changes hands - the value of what they have given you is priceless. Remember to acknowledge even the smallest of actions and be thankful and give praise because this shows you place value on them as a person and what they have done to help you.
